SQR Software cc was founded in 1994 by Egmont Goedeke, Mark Goedeke and Mark McGlinchey. Egmont and Mark are both skilled software developers. Mark McGlinchey brings extensive agronomic knowledge and experience. Together they created CanePro. CanePro was created in response to the needs of the South African sugar industry as an Agricultural Software Management solution for private growers. Farmer CanePro was released in 1997. Farmer Canepro has been in operation for almost eight years and is used by over 250 local growers. Early in 1999, Illovo Sugar, one of Africa's leading sugar producers, and SQR collaborated to develop Estate CanePro. The estate version allows for multiple user access and includes many other features which were not necessary in the farmer version. Estate CanePro is now used in over 7 countries by a number of estates. Our customers include:
