Supply Chain database and mill supply agreements

  • Record and maintain a list of growers, their addresses, contact details etc.
  • Record and maintain a database of hauliers and harvest contractors.
  • Manage cane supply agreements/quotas

Delivery Information

  • View delivery information captured by the weighbridge system and quality information from mill laboratory system.
  • Manage day-to-day cane supply – grower/haulier delivery patterns, mill yard stock etc.
  • Delivery reporting to satisfy mill and out-grower requirements, via email if applicable
  • Identify problem out-growers in terms of supply reliability and quality. Target these growers for further extension/advice.
  • Delivery reporting to satisfy haulier and harvest contractor needs – vehicle turn-around times, bin weights, loads per day/shift etc.

GIS (ESRI license required per concurrent GIS user)

  • Integrated ESRI-based GIS solution.
  • Complete CAD functionality if required.

Yield Estimates and harvest planning

  • Generate periodic (monthly) cane estimates using yield estimates submitted by growers.
  • Manage grower estimate submission process tracking late and non-submissions
  • Moderate grower estimates using a dynamic supply/demand based harvest planning algorithm.
  • Provide grower feedback in terms of estimates and anticipated harvest dates.
  • Provide informed pre-season yield estimates to aid sugar marketing and sales decisions
  • Generate what-if harvesting scenarios to appraise season start and duration decisions.

Rateable Delivery schedules

  • Calculate rateable delivery schedules for harvest groups and individual growers.
  • Adjust rateables based on deliveries to date, remaining estimates and mill/mill group rules regarding under or over supply.
  • Feedback revised rateables to harvesting groups/growers, via email if applicable.

Operational Planning

  • Plan the timing of critical field operations for all suppliers delivering to the mill. Suggested ripener application dates, or irrigation dry-off dates can be calculated from delivery dates given a set of agronomic rules and communicated to the grower concerned.

Extension and Advice

  • Benchmarking grower performance (yield, quality, delivery delays etc) to identify poorly performing suppliers requiring targeted extension/advice.
  • Provide grower confidential benchmark reports allowing them to judge their performance against the best and worst performers in their harvest group, agroclimatic zone, mill delivery ward or mill group.
