Budgeting
The Budgeting
module generates costs which are grouped by:
- Account
- Financial
month
- Cost
centre location
- Cost
centre activity There are various sources of costs, including:
- The Resource
Planner module. Physical quantities are converted into direct costs
using a table of cost standards.
- The Overhead
Costs Planner. Costs can be entered at a monthly level. Alternatively,
they can be entered at an annual level. A phasing rule can then be used
to allocate the annual amount to the various financial months. High-level
costs can also be allocated to multiple cost centers at the same time,
using an allocation basis and a phasing rule.
- A Sucrose
Revenue Planner. This
is used to predict revenue based on each field's projected sucrose yield.
- A Seed-Cane
Revenue Planner.
The Budgeting
Module shares many of the same analytical tools as the Resource Planner
module. Excel pivot cubes are also used for generating custom reports
and for analyzing costs at any level of detail. These Excel reports can
be saved in the database.
The Budgeting
Module provides the budget in a format suitable for integration with the
company's financial systems. It also allows costs to be more easily related
back to physicals, thus enabling a better reconciliation of the financial
and agricultural views of the operation.
This integrated
approach can be used to improve planning and control at a still higher
level within the organization.
