GIS

An agricultural operation is inherently spatial in nature and lends itself to a spatial reporting tool. Agricultural management is often more comfortable making decisions from spatially based information. Our GIS module provides such a tool.

The strength of CanePro's GIS approach lies in the integrated nature of the GIS within the CanePro software. Users familiar with CanePro will quickly master the skills required to draw maps, generate simple queries and thematics using data residing in CanePro. This negates the need for highly-skilled on-site GIS staff required to run a conventional high-end GIS package.

CanePro caters for a number of functionality levels ranging from a simple reporting tool, for low-level users, to a higher-level GIS package capable of re-mapping fields, network analysis etc.

CanePro provides for multi-layers, the ability to display ortho-corrected photography (including ECW format), multi filters, custom thematics and powerful CAD-driven editing functionality to enable users to amend and insert spatial information when required.

The GIS data resides within the same SQL Server database as the other CanePro information. This eliminates the need for separate databases and ensures that queries and maps are being generated from live source data at all times.

The integrated nature of the module ensures that no third-party runtime licenses are required to use CanePro's GIS module, eliminating the need to restrict the number of users on site. Compatibility with other GIS industry leaders e.g. ESRI ensures that data can be imported and exported in different formats.
